Another Week Gone By

I can't believe the weekend is already here. I am more than ready for it, especially since the weather has been nice (80's). My daughter will be starting drill team practice again on Saturdays after a month long break. The will be getting ready for the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders Competition in October. I think I'm more excited than she is. School starts on Monday. I know have a 4th & 2nd grader. They are growing up too fast. They are past the age of needing to be walked to their class on the first day. I thought about it, but, they're familiar with the school so I'll just drop them off as I normally would. They're going to miss staying up late. That's right, time to get back to a structured routine. Start on homework as soon as we walk in the door. No going outside to play unless it's finished. Dinner by 6 p.m. (it could happen). Shower/bathe around 8:30 p.m. In bed by 9 p.m. Now if only things could flow as smoothly as it sounds :) . There has got to be other single parents out there whose daily routine goes as planned at least 3 out of 5 days of the week (Mon - Fri).

Here I was, minding my own business while cruising around looking for some ideas to use on my own blog, and I stumbled upon yours. I read a little and left, but I was back again a few minutes later. Something drew me back here and I can't quite put my finger on it. All I can tell you is I'm back. And posting. I'm saving your site so I can visit again.

I don't have children, so I can't empathize with being a single parent, but I can as far as the struggles of being a Christian in today's world. My wife left for greener pastures 15 years ago and I have been single since.

I also live in the Dallas area, but for how much longer I'm not certain. I would like to give you a URL to my blog, but I don't know that it is proper 'netiquette' to post it here. I looked around but you don't have your guestbook set up and you don't have a 'contact me' link, so I'll just check back later and see if there's a way to trade blog links.

Thanks!

If you get that schedule to work you let me know. I'm doing good getting home by 6 pm - let alone having dinner ready!

We did manage to have dinner by 6 p.m. on Monday (had left-overs). Hey, it really cuts down on time :). Today will definitely be a fast-food day -- I have choir rehearsal at 7 p.m.
